Magic Uncorked (Monday, February 16, 6-9pm), $30

$30.00

Our quarterly magic show has officially become a thing, with every single show having sold out! We’re delighted to host new and returning magicians for an evening of wonder and joy. You’ll enjoy walkaround and close-up magic in the bar for an hour and a half (starting at 6pm) before heading into the Vinum Lounge for a seated show of parlor magic. Here is some information about the magicians:

REV. DR. DAVE GREGORY

Co-owner of Ora et Labora, Dave is a fake minister (ordained in the Church of the Latter Day Dude) and a fake doctor (of curriculum and instruction), and he is most certainly not a professional magician. While he was the youngest member of the Parent Assembly of the Society of American Magicians founded by Houdini in New York City at the turn of the 20th century, and did attend magic camp for years, he can only do like five tricks. Given a multitude of poor decisions and failures, the best he could do was open a wine shop and bar whose real (though unstated, because he had to trick [pun intended] his wife) raison d’etre is to host magic shows at which he can do two of those five tricks as MC.

JACOB GRIER

Jacob Grier is a close-up magician, writer, and bartender in Portland, Oregon. A frequent street performer at events such as First Thursday in the Pearl and Last Thursday on Alberta, he also performs at private events and can occasionally be found slinging drinks at The Multnomah Whiskey Library. Among other books, he is the coauthor of "Raising the Bar," an acclaimed guide to home bartending.

JOHN STEVENS

John Stevens is a magician and mentalist who goes beyond illusion and weaves them into stories. With a unique blend of mystery, psychology, and theatrical flair, John invites audiences into a world where the impossible becomes a mirror, reflecting the wonder, emotions, and connections we all share.

His performances aren’t just about tricks; they’re about truths—those found in laughter, surprise, and the moments when we all feel part of something bigger. Whether on stage or in an intimate setting, John uses magic as a language to remind us that, at our core, we are more alike than different.

A storyteller at heart and a mind-reader and magician by craft, John doesn’t just entertain—he shows how we all are connected.

JONATHAN MOLO, THE MAN IN THE PURPLE SUIT!

With over 30 years of experience, Jonathan Molo has been captivating audiences with his unique blend of magic, positivity, and humor.

Recipient of the prestigious iChange Nations Champion Leadership Award, Jonathan has made a lasting impact, particularly in the special needs community, using magic to inspire and uplift.

As a proud member of the renowned Academy of Magical Arts, Jonathan regularly graces the legendary Magic Castle in Hollywood, California, where his talents have earned him a spot among the world’s finest magicians. This past year, Jonathan was named the Strolling Magician of the Year at the Castle! Whether performing for an intimate group or a crowd of thousands, Jonathan’s shows guarantee one thing: magical moments filled with laughter, wonder, and lasting memories.

His impressive client list includes renowned names such as Warner Music, Warner Bros, Fiduciary Trust, Hilton, Lululemon, Yamaha, Docler Media, VCA, King Oscar, El Dorado Broadcasters, and the USO. Yet, Jonathan’s magic shines just as brightly at house parties, community events, or small gatherings—proof that true magic knows no bounds.

Expect the impossible, but be prepared for more than just awe-inspiring illusions. With Jonathan, you'll experience comedy, charm, and a personality so magnetic, you’ll find yourself laughing long after the show ends.
