"If there's any weird or metaphysical energy in wine, we want ours to have it."
Sterling Whitted originally hails from Eugene, and worked at Owen Roe, Cameron, and Teutonic while completing his graduate work in oenology at Oregon State University. Although Holden was his first label, Sterling purchased a 10 acre farm where he lives with his dog Johnny in an old barn. Holden spent time in Italy, Georgia, and Ecuador, and his travels in Ecuador coupled with his Puerto Rican heritage inspired him to start making wines geared toward Latin American food. Sterling’s wines are truly delicious, and utterly fascinating, messing with conventions all in the name of making wines that are remarkably versatile and perfect for summertime festivities.
